The Earth system of our world is increasingly precarious – and our inaction is making things worse. Despite ambitious plans, our growing energy demands are still mostly met by fossil fuels. Without immediate and radical change, the rise in global temperatures will soon threaten many species and human lives.

Decarbonisation is made harder by continued investment in carbon-intensive materials, processes and ways of life. We need urgent global action to prevent a climate catastrophe.

In this future, we’ve rebalanced our climate. We’ve replaced fossil fuels with renewable energy and still met the energy demand.

Through a concerted effort to keep global temperature increase below 1.5ºC, the worst possible climate disasters have been avoided.

And with sustainable investment, we’ve decarbonised industrial sectors like manufacturing, transportation and electricity. Women, youth, and indigenous people are also at the forefront of global and local decision-making processes.

This isn’t just a future we want. It’s a future we need.
